The Post-MSN certificate programs are offered to individuals holding Master of Science in Nursing degrees. The Post MSN certificate program is built upon the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired in the master’s program in nursing. Successful completion of the nurse practitioner option program qualifies the graduate to take the national certification examination for the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP). The clinical component, designed to meet individual student needs, ranges from 568 to 736 contact hours for the NP options and approximately 112 contact hours for the Nurse Educator and Health Systems and Population Health Leadership concentration. Students enrolled in the Post-MSN certificate programs must meet with the Program Director to complete a gap analysis documentation form.
