NURS 5965 Primary Care II

Provides the essential foundation for the provision of primary health care to adult and adult-geriatric clients. The course integrates health screening, health promotion and illness management within the primary care advanced practice nursing role. Critical thinking and differential diagnosis are emphasized. The focus is on delivery of evidence-based care in the evaluation and management of endocrine, hematologic, cardiovascular, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, psychological, oncological, and primary care emergent disorders as well as a review of infectious disease and palliative care practices.
