How To Access Your Accounts

Your Accounts: Getting Logged In

When you start at Goldfarb, you'll be given accounts to access everything you need

Finding Links: Go to the main Goldfarb website, click "Students" at the top. You'll find quick links to most apps there.
Your Login ID (BJC Network ID): This is your main key! It usually looks something like xy12345. You'll use this ID plus @bjc.org (like xy12345@bjc.org) to log into most things, including:
- Microsoft 365 (Email, Office, etc.)
- Canvas
- Other GSON and BJC systems
Your Official Email Address: This is how Goldfarb will officially contact you. It looks like FirstName.LastName@barnesjewishcollege.edu. Check this email every day!
- Good news: Emails sent to your Login ID (xy12345@bjc.org) also go to this same inbox.
Secure Login System (MFA): We use Microsoft tools (managed by BJC) for secure logins.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): You must set up the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smartphone. When you log in, you'll get a notification on your phone to approve it. This helps prevent others from accessing your account.
Your Password:
- Setup: You'll get emails with instructions on how to set up your account and password. Do this right away! (If you already work at BJC, you can use your existing password).
- Rules: At least 8 characters, must include UPPERCASE, lowercase, and numbers. Can't include your name or username.
- Expiration: Passwords expire every 90 days. Change it before it expires! You can't reuse old passwords.
- Forgot Password? Use the Microsoft Self-Service Reset (if you set it up) at https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/ or call the BJC Service Desk at 314-362-4700.
KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT SAFE!

You are responsible for everything done with your account.
NEVER share your password. Seriously, don't.
ALWAYS log out or lock your computer when you walk away.
If you think someone might have access to your account, report it IMMEDIATELY to GSON IT Support or the BJC Service Desk.

Microsoft 365 (Email, Office Apps, Cloud Storage)

Access: Go to https://www.office.com and log in with your BJC ID (xy12345@bjc.org).
Official Email (Outlook): This is your FirstName.LastName@barnesjewishcollege.edu account. Check it daily! Important info comes through here.
FREE Microsoft Office: Get Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., online and download the full software to install on your personal computer for free!
OneDrive: Cloud storage for your schoolwork. Save your files here so you don't lose them!

Canvas (Your Online Classroom)

Access: Go directly to https://canvas.barnesjewishcollege.edu/ (Login with your BJC ID: xy12345@bjc.org).
What it is: Your main hub for courses. Find syllabi, assignments, grades, discussions, lecture notes, and messages from instructors here. Courses usually disappear shortly after the semester ends, so download anything you want to keep!
