General Policies
Bereavement Policy
Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing recognizes that students may experience the death of an immediate family member during the course of an academic term/program. To promote the general mental health of our students, this policy provides a formal process to allow grieving students the opportunity to attend a funeral and fulfill other family responsibilities during times of death and grief. The College seeks to reasonably accommodate absences due to bereavement while maintaining focus on the academic schedule and student’s academic success. As a result, a student should not be penalized for missing a class, examination, lab simulation or clinical requirement due to a family death.
Lactating Policy
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that students who breastfeed are provided with an environment that recognizes and supports their lactation needs. This policy is consistent with Missouri and Federal law.
Children on Campus Policy
This policy applies to any Goldfarb School of Nursing student who brings his/her child or children to Campus. This policy is intended to ensure a productive and safe environment where Goldfarb students can meet their educational obligations.
Religious Accommodations Policy
The College will make reasonable accommodations for individuals whose sincerely held religious belief, practice or observation conflicts with an educational requirement and/or uniform requirement, unless doing so would pose an undue hardship.
