NURS 3380A Application of Evidence-based Practice (EBP) and Leadership Principles

Theoretical concepts necessary for the graduate nurse to transition into a leadership role are introduced in this course. Skills needed to advance the profession as a change agent are emphasized. Delegation, decision-making, conflict resolution, and evaluation of care will be emphasized. The use of a theoretical framework as a guide to improving the practice of professional nursing is highlighted. Ethical issues applicable to health care delivery and the use of human subjects in research are explored. The influence of economic and legal factors on the nurse leader will be addressed. Assists students to become consumers of research and to integrate evidence into practice.
