NURS 3350U Psych-Mental Health Nursing
Examines biopsychological approaches to the care of patients/families with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders
across the lifespan. Students will continue to expand upon basic therapeutic communication skills with patients. The use of the
nursing process is emphasized to assist individuals to attain optimal levels of mental health. Clinical experience in a variety of
health care settings focuses on the development and use of interpersonal skills. Research-based knowledge and applicable
theoretical frameworks are used to integrate theory and clinical practice.
