NURS 4260A Population Health Nursing

Introduces theories and concepts related to community population and public health. Emphasis is on the role and impact of the professional nurse in community and population health through the implementation of assessments, planning, interventions and evaluation strategies to facilitate health maintenance and promotion for culturally diverse populations. Students will also study the impacts of policy on community, public and population health through risk, asset, or gap assessment and protective factors that affect the health of vulnerable aggregates. Students will also integrate epidemiological and research concepts in developing a community based participatory research project.
