NURS 6314 School Health Management

Provides an in-depth exploration of the principles and practices of effective school health management. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to manage comprehensive school health programs and advocate for policies to enhance student and community well-being. Students will examine the role of the school nurse as a leader in promoting health, safety, and wellness in the educational setting. Topics include program planning and evaluation, health policy development, emergency preparedness, chronic disease management, and coordination of school-based health services. Emphasis will be placed on interdisciplinary collaboration, legal and ethical considerations, and evidence-based strategies to support student health and academic success.
