NURS 6312 Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Health Assessment for the School Nurse
Provides an in-depth examination of the principles involved in assessing the health and development of school-aged children. Students will learn to conduct comprehensive health appraisals, including physical, developmental, behavioral, and psychosocial assessments. This course integrates advanced pathophysiology to enhance understanding of common and complex pediatric health conditions as well as advanced pharmacology to guide safe and effective medication management. Students will learn effective strategies for collaboration with families, educators, and healthcare providers, empowering students to foster a holistic approach to student wellbeing and academic success.
