NURS 4800U Emergency Nursing Principles and Practice
Focuses on individuals experiencing an emergent condition. Emphasis focuses on legal and regulatory constructs, ethical considerations, workplace violence, intimate partner violence, neglect and abuse in the emergency setting. In addition, management of the trauma and critical care patient, organ and tissue donation, air and surface patient transport, chemical, biological, radiologic, and nuclear threats, communicable diseases of concern, and toxicological emergencies are discussed within the course. Roles and responsibilities of the emergency nurse within each area are applied within the construct of the clinical judgment model.
