Auditing Courses

A student may only register to audit courses that do not have clinical sections. A course may be audited if a student does not wish to receive credit or a letter grade for the course. The student will attend the course, but will not take exams evaluated by the instructor. A grade of "AU" will be recorded on the student’s transcript signifying a successful audit. Neither the grade affects the student’s grade point average, nor do the course’s units contribute to the total cumulative degree-seeking units. Audit courses do not count toward a degree. The tuition for an audited course is one-third of the regular course tuition.

A student must declare the intent to audit the course at the time of course registration and have permission from the Assistant Dean in consultation with the course faculty and Program Directors. Course audits cannot be added to a student schedule after the hard-stop registration deadline (usually 5 days after classes begin). Students seeking college credit are given priority in seating if a course is full.
