NURS 3260W Introduction to Adult Health

The health-illness continuum related to the care of adult clients is the focus of the course. The course introduces the student to essential skills needed for comprehensive care of adult clients in a variety of settings by integrating concepts from pathophysiology, health assessment, and pharmacology. The acquisition of nursing skills based on best practice and theory, the development of a therapeutic relationships, and the education of clients and families will be emphasized. The clinical practicum will focus on quality nursing care, safety, therapeutic communication, time management, and the application of skills in a client-centered manner.
